This certificate in Counselling Skills programme is a part-time course where you’ll learn a variety of listening and responding skills which will enhance your interaction with others. This course is highly interactive, combining formal teaching with individual, small group and whole-group activities. This qualification could lead to employment or increase employ-ability for those whose role is to support others in e.g. health and social care work, teaching and learning, advocacy and mediation, support and project work, other helping roles. CPCAB training courses are highly recognised across the profession.
They are the UK's leading counselling awarding organisation, with over 200 training centres and 400 locations throughout the UK and overseas. 16,000 candidates are registered for their technical and vocational qualifications each year. They've been in business since 1993 and are regulated by Ofqual, CCEA and Qualifications Wales.
Successful candidates will be able to progress onto the level 3 certificate in counselling studies. INNATE will be offering Level 3 accredited counselling courses in the near future.
This is the first step to becoming a qualified counsellor.
No previous training or experience is required to undertake this qualification but candidates must be able to cope with course content which involves written essays, peer assessments and group work. Interviewing is essential for CPCAB training courses.

Both our Level 2 and Level 3 courses are 15 weeks long, term time only.
The course starts 4th November and ends on the 5th March 2025.
Every Mondays and Wednesdays 6pm to 9.30pm
This course will be two weekday evenings 6pm to 9.30. Course start date and days are yet be confirmed.
Courses starting in November 2024 are 100% online. We run the courses via Zoom video calls. The lectures are highly interactive, including lots of group discussions, breakout rooms and lectures.
There is weekly homework which all students must complete.
80% Attendance is required.
There are no exams for Level 2 or Level 3.
Yes, the Level 2 course is fully recognised and accredited by the CPCAB (Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body) Their course are recognised nationally.
We are awaiting approval for Level 3.
Our highly dedicated tutors are committed to providing extra support for those who need it. Extra lesson time and tutorials can be arranged upon requests.
Level 2 is ideally for those starting at the first level of training as a professional counsellor.
It is suitable for those who want to learn counselling skills in other professions or helping roles.
Level 2 also improves professional and personal relationships as part of personal development.
Upon successful completion of the Level 2, students may wish to progress to Level 3 Counselling studies.
