Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills £93.75 P/M

We offer two study options:

  • Evening Course: 30 weeks, starting every September
  • Time: One evening per week, 6:00pm – 9:30pm (term-time only)


  • Day Course: 20 weeks, starting every February
  • Time: One day per week, 9:30am – 2:30pm (term-time only)

This course is INNATE Certified.

Our courses are designed to give learners the underpinning knowledge, skills and competencies to use counselling skills ethically and safely in a variety of contexts and roles. This course is mapped to CPCAB and Ofqual.

Level 2 Fees:

Course Overview

This certificate in Counselling Skills programme is a part-time course where you’ll learn a variety of listening and responding skills which will enhance your interaction with others. This course is highly interactive, combining formal teaching with individual, small group and whole-group activities. This qualification could lead to employment or increase employ-ability for those whose role is to support others in e.g. health and social care work, teaching and learning, advocacy and mediation, support and project work, other helping roles. 

This Qualification Is For:

  • Those starting the first level of training as a professional counsellor
  • Those who want to learn counselling skills in other professions or helping roles
  • Those who want to improve their professional and personal relationships as part of personal development.

Progression Opportunities:

This course is widely accepted as one of the entry requirements to Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, with nationally recognised awarding bodies, as well other courses. 


Successful candidates will be able to progress onto Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies. 


This is the first step to becoming a qualified counsellor. 

Modules.

  1. Use counselling skills ethically and safely
  2. Establish and sustain the boundaries of the helping role
  3. Work empathically as a helper
  4. Focus on the helpee’s needs and concerns
  5. Use self-awareness in helping work
  6. Use a range of counselling skills to facilitate the helping interaction
  7. Use feedback and reflection to enhance counselling skills

Entry requirements

No previous training or experience is required to undertake this qualification but candidates must be able to cope with course content which involves written essays, peer assessments and group work. Interviewing is essential.

All our Level 2 and Level 3 courses are 15 weeks long, term time only. 


Every Tuesdays and Thursdays. 


All course are 100% online. We run the courses via Zoom video calls. The lectures are highly interactive, including lots of group discussions, breakout rooms and lectures. 

There is weekly homework which all students must complete. 

80% Attendance is required. 

There are no exams for Level 2 or Level 3. 


All our courses are fully recognised and accredited by the CPCAB (Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body) Their course are recognised nationally. 



Our highly dedicated tutors are committed to providing extra support for those who need it. Extra lesson time and tutorials can be arranged upon requests. 


Level 2 is ideally for those starting at the first level of training as a professional counsellor.

Upon successful completion of the Level 2, students may wish to progress to Level 3 Counselling studies.
