This qualification leads to employment and increases employability for those whose role is to support others in sectors such as health and social care work, teaching and learning, advocacy and mediation, support and project work, and other helping roles. It provides additional skills for those already in employment and is likely to lead to increased opportunities for promotion and advancement towards practitioner-level qualifications (TC-L4).
This qualification will enable successful candidates to work as skilled supporters within a range of job and career opportunities.

You must have undertaken counselling skills training, e.g. Level 2 Counselling Skills or equivalent units/qualifications of at least 75 Guided Learning Hours.

Elaine MacGregor is the tutor for the Level 3 Counselling Studies course. She is a BACP-registered counsellor and supervisor with extensive experience in private practice.
Elaine has worked with charities, schools, and clients from diverse cultural backgrounds, firmly believing that awareness of difference and diversity is essential to fostering equality in therapeutic practice.
As a tutor, Elaine’s approach is dynamic, explorative, participative, and relational, often drawing on her clinical experience to enrich learning. She is committed to creating an environment of curiosity and growth, encouraging students to engage deeply with both theory and practice.
Elaine also teaches skills practice, supporting students in developing the therapeutic relationship and integrating theoretical knowledge into their work. Her goal is to equip students with the confidence and competence needed for the next stage of their counselling journey.
